Council of Europe Fears Absolute Power of the Prince

New York Times reports: "LIECHTENSTEIN: MONITORING DEMOCRACY Concerned that recent constitutional amendments return absolute power to Liechtenstein's prince, a Council of Europe committee recommended monitoring democratic processes there. The constitutional changes, approved by voters in March, let Prince Hans Adam II exercise power at will. The Liechtenstein government responded that the country is a "vibrant democracy." If the recommendation is approved, Liechtenstein would join 10 other European countries being monitored. Alison Langley (NYT)"
